Wekfest Seattle 2023 | Part 1

Published by Lan on

It finally happened.

I was able to attend a car show outside of Hawaii for the sole purpose of attending the show – not in passing, not having come across it – but I flew out specifically with the intention of going to the Wekfest car show in Seattle.

There was no particular reason why it had to be this Seattle’s show, but it was on the convenient side. I had friends and family who reside there to make the trip much more manageable. For perspective, here was my timeline of the trip:

  • Flight on Sat 1pm, arrive in Seattle at 10:30pm
  • Out of car rental at 11:30pm
  • Arrived at relatives at 12:15am
  • Slept at ~1am, woke up at 6:00am
  • Drove to Silverdale and arrived 8:00am
  • Left at 8:30, got to C&C at 10:00
  • Stayed till 11, Wekfest at 1:00
  • Back to Silverdale 8pm
  • Back to SEA 9pm
  • Ate and back to relatives at 10:30pm, slept at midnight
  • Woke up 5:00am for a 8:30am flight.

See? There just for the show and just constantly on the go!

Overall I enjoyed the experience, the Chipotle, and the weather. I had a place to stay, got to borrow an S2000 from a friend, and visit the Tomo Garage.

Fellow Hawaii #cardesigner Tanner happened in be in town and messaged me when he saw that I was too. He ended up telling me about a cars and coffee – keep your eyes peeled for that – before the show and met up there first before the actual Wekfest show.

Sadly, I was not early to make it for roll-in and unable to stay late for roll out, but for now in part 1, I leave with the very small amount of cars in just the first section of the exhibit hall, but it is nothing short of quality! I am unfamiliar with most of the owners of these rides so please message me so I can give the much deserved credit to the #designers of these beautiful machines.

Right in, I see this beauty. I’m not much a fan of the EP3 chassis, but the white on the bronze Mugens was too alluring to pass.

The main #design that captured me – jklap1

This Integra from spriggan380 was my most favorite to shoot that day as it was staged as so, in its NA goodness. I probably would’ve done something similar + a major suspension difference 😉

This RSX/Integra was also very impressive

He’s explaining to her how badass this boosted EP3 is.

Two EGs, two different #designs, same drive

This S14 had a pretty sick exhaust setup that came up through the trunk. I wasn’t able to get a nice shot of it though…

Can someone legit tell me more about this please? Is it #designed to hold up a people to sleep in that?

Update: The answer is “Yes it is.” by @trd.ferio

Keep an eye out for part 2 (maybe even a 3..) as well as from the cars and coffee before the show.

Feel free to post, but just link back here. And again, if you know who the owners are of this, please let me know!!!

Till next time!
