What makes DoriDore 2026 So Effing Awesome

久しぶり RiceFam! [translated: Hisashiburi RiceFam – “Long time no see”]
It has been quite an eventful month since May started. The annual trip to Nagoya has happened for the 3rd time this year and the 2nd time attending the DoriDore drift event. Worked out the logistics a little better this time around with getting and returning the car the get the most benefit out of both the Wekfest and DoriDore show that luckily continues to happen back to back.
Instead of covering the Wekfest show first, decided to do the drift one instead to be a little unconventional.
The itinerary involves with a 30-45ish minute drive from the capsule hotel to Yoro SA (Service Area) – which is like a rest stop with restrooms, restaurants, vending machines, and a market to grab on-the-go goodies.

Was a little disappointed to not see much “cool” cars at the stop like last time but it is what it is. Grabbed some quick ramen and a few パン [pronounced: “pahn”] before getting back on the road for a 45 min drive up the mountain to Okuibuki Motor Park where the event was held. Not gonna lie, the drive up is a pretty fun touge…
Parked the car and headed to the pit area and the same feeling just like last year washed over within the first two seconds – overwhelmed.
On to the pics!

Then they started to stage the first set of cars… It’s LOUD.
Engine revving and popping exhaust is encouraged.

Some final thoughts for this post:
- Really really miss Hawaii having a track where drifting is sanctioned. Prolly would go all in for drifitng over autox. Maybe….
- Japan car culture quality is jaw dropping and awe inspiring and is something to strive for.
- There’s something about the S-Chassis that is so satiating…
- Itasha style is looking more and more like a possibility…
- Part 2 coming soon!!!
