Yudai’s 2007 Honda Civic Type-R

Published by Lan on

I don’t remember when I had come across this Civic on Instagram, but I do remember how it made me feel. It really reminding me of my own civic and what I would do had I got a Type-R of this generation.

Enter Yudai’s Honda Civic in it’s Mugen attire, the (US) sought after front end, octagon tail lights, and TE37 footprint and it is a solid base to potentially build off of. Personally, I would keep it this way… but that’s just me.

Yudai’s Civic is yet another car that I’ve had the honor of being able to see in person after ogling it on IG for sometime. It really is like seeing a celebrity in person. It is definitely my top favorites from Wekfest Japan 2024.

I really had wanted to meet Yudai in person – regardless of the language barrier – but it was hard to figure out who was the owner of the car.

Unfortunately, the US isn’t blessed to have this trim, so we can only make the best of what we have. My wannabe Type-R is really a watered down version of this.

Very simple and clean – just how I prefer.

I am not sure if Brembos are factory on this generation Type-R. See them peeking behind the Bronze Volk TE37s?

They are 17x9j +22 with Direzza ZIII 215/40. As of this post, he is running a different setup. I think he’s on CE37s… Also a Mugen grill is a great touch to the JDM-US-coveted front end.

I would’ve loved to take some pics of the Brides inside the car. Can you see them?

In the time I’ve been acquainted with the 8th gen, I swear people were looking all over the place for this rear setup. A subframe brace along with lower control arms. Makes it look aggressive as hell.

Overall, it is a clean, simple, tasteful build that I would have emulated had I been in Japan with one of my own. Hopefully I’ll be able to meet Yudai in person one day.. maybe my next year trip to Japan?
