We Are Design Driven

Sup everyone! I’m Lan (pronounced like the “lan” in the word “land”) and I tend to get pretty excited about cars.

I’ve always prioritized making my car look nice (whatever that was to me at the time) over it performing better. That is how I designed them to be.

Then my first autox event happened.

I felt a new excitement DRIVING my car competitively. It was thrilling but I still didn’t care for the “racecar look.” There is a beauty in them, but it’s not for me. It’s not my style. It’s not my type of design.

As I continued to autox I took more notice to the people with their cars designed for competitiveness. They told great stories of “how” and “why” they chose to execute them in that way and in turn, wanted to hear why and how it felt DRIVING and auto-crossing on the air suspension.

No one told me it was lame. No one told me it was a bad idea. No one convinced me to do otherwise. I still felt accepted and contributive to the culture, even if my car was considered “different” within that scope because ultimately we enjoy the same damn thing! It inspires to DRIVE that message outside of autox because our community is much bigger than that.

I design my car for looking good. Maybe you do too. I thrive on DRIVING my car competitively. Maybe you don’t and that’s ok.

Though there is so much variety of cars and execution, we are all engaged in the car community and DRIVEN to achieve our goals so DRIVE right in!

What’s your design and drive? #becausericecar

In addition, I want to show what surrounds my DRIVING experiences – the car culture through my perspective from how-To’s, projects, meets, etc.
