Wekfest Hawaii 2024 | Part 2
Welcome back! Hope you enjoyed part 1!
First, I want to extend my appreciation if you are coming back to the site to check out the posts. The feedback that I’ve been receiving have been very beneficial – constructive or not. It really means a lot to me.
Second, I hope that I’ll be able to reach out to those that believe and follow RICECARDRIVER and the brand’s purpose and values. I haven’t really delegated time to address it specifically and one day I will. I just haven’t decided the way that I’d like to do it yet…
Third, I finally present to you part two of Wekfest Hawaii 2024! Part one was the roll in and part two is the exhibition hall.
When I come to shows like this I usually just tune out to the outside world and go off the grid as I get so immersed in the many builds. This time around I did take time to reach out to talk to some people… and to connect cars and/or handles to faces –
- Tommy is really cool. I like him 764359234 times more for him thinking I’m way younger than he thought.
- Candice is a real sweetie. Thanks for the affirmation in that I’m more motivated to take the motorcycle classes
- Jev and his G35 that I always see on the road and near his workplace
- Josh and his Toyota Crown. Real bum that the rest of his team didn’t get the approval for the show…
- Phil, Jessie, Efren that I already know, but allowing me to roll in with them and hang.
- Reid and his RX to da 7.
- Brian and Oliver with their Civics
- Randy and his Civic and E36
- Elliot and more insight to the E36 chassis
- Kalai and his badass Kaido
- Chris and reminiscing on old Initial D version 2/3 era.
- And more excellent people in the scene
I had heard that many people did not get accepted into the show, so the show was relatively small, so a goal was to get a shot of every single car in the show – which technically I did, but a handful were unfortunately not useable… However I cannot deny the quality that the show had brought.
Anyhow, on to the pics! Feel free to use as long as it is linked back here. Please let me know if the owners are not tagged. I’d like to give them their due credit.
If you haven’t already, you can check out the other events I’ve attended, just in case you’re curious.
@sekcsylva and his Kaido. Heard it was imported just days before the show…
Guess what the milage is on this Corolla Wagon by @project_george
This 86 by @filllupmycup Congrats on taking best Toyota man!
Slight changes from the feature I did of @effen.efren but still clean all the same!
I consider this the more “conservative” form of @ljvyjrl build. I may have an old pic of it somewhere…
This 86 by @arzsteezy took home 86/Corolla. It’s def a beast.

The civic up top belongs to @naito_nation. Always loved the build he did. Then he had to get the E36 pictured below… he’s always picking up stuff that I’d love to have myself. Super jealous!
Wow! Just wow. If you know the owner, please let me know!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and forever, the story behind this EF by @89hatcher is second to none.

So clean and simple RX7 @original_works.
And a triple set of S2Ks…
If I were to make an R34, it would prolly be very akin to this one at the @invalid.jp booth. I believe this is a GT-T. RWD ftw.
Really dig the transformation from the red to black by @shaynejav. This was done merely days before the show. Impressive!
This decked out Supra by @2jz_ftw. Best of Show I believe!
Keep driving!!!!
