SCCA Hawaii 2024 – Race 6

Published by Lan on

Ooooooooh Hisashiburidana!

After quite a long break time, we resume the SCCA season with Race 6!

Last race I focused soley on media and this time I focused more on my driving… the “itch” was getting too much to bear and it needed to be scratched.

I’m kind of caught in this strange limbo… My Falken RT615K+ have lived its life and it is definitely not gripping anywhere near like they should…

Solution is simple right? Why not just buy new tires?

Well, I could, but if there are only a few races left (for who knows how long since the stadium is going for renovation) do I really want to commit to a new set of tires that I probably won’t be able to utilize? Further, tires aren’t exactly “cheap” and of course the tire size that I prefer just happen to be on the more expensive side – apparently 215/40R17 is an unorthodox size.

I again dedicate this post to the Rookies. I commend the first timers – like Tim in his Integra – and those who return encouraged to do better – like Ryota and Jon in their Skyline and Wagon respectively.

Drivers meeting before the heats.

The S2000… always breaking necks.

Watching @86_yota during his runs put on quite a show for us.l

See the Type-R on the left by @bouford? It’s got my fav blow off valve on it.

If you actually made it this far, here’s a clip of me of make-shifting a mount with my phone by sandwiching it between the seat headrest. Not a great vantage point… though it wasn’t my fastest run, its when I was able to break into the 38 sec range. Was pretty stoked about it.

Wait till the end.

Till next time RiceFam!
