Reid’s 1994 Mazda RX7

A part of getting older is realizing that we grow out of things. I remember when things like video games and skateboarding dominated my life… and I thought that it would be part of my life forever.
But it faded away. Still got an appreciation for it, but not as pertinent in my life anymore. And I thought it would be the same for cars.
But I was wrong.
I’ll save the long story, but the “excitement” when it came cars never went away. Never. Many of my ‘ol friends who I cruised, wrenched, and enjoyed cars with had gotten out of it over the years.
And some didn’t. One of them is Reid.
I most recently ran into him at Wekfest Hawaii and some other car get togethers.
I’ll save yet another long ass story, but he was the first person I knew that actually bought a Miata and modified it, willingly, back when no one gave a rip about it. He’s also owned/has owned a plethora of cars including (but not limited to) Civics, Miatas, G35s, Zs, Toyota Tacos, Evolutions – not to mention putting in the wrench time to mod to implement his designs.
We made plans to catch up on a weekend and to take some flicks of his newest acquisition – an FD chassis RX7. He bought it with a V8 in it, but everything else comes from him adding his touch – again to make it better but also to maintain it in running condition.
Sadly, I actually forgot to take pics of the engine… sue me.
Starting with the interior, I note the Nardi Steering wheel and the dual Recaros

Moving towards the back with the cross bars. A pretty cool sight.

And on to the exterior.

He “eyeballed” the specs on the wheels.
