Logan’s 2008 Honda S2000

Konnichiwassup RiceFam!
I don’t think there will be anything quite like the Honda S2000. Admittedly I wasn’t too impressed when it first came out – I judged it rather quickly and it remained at the bottom of my “interested” list for years.
Until I got the opportunity to actually drive all those cars.
The S2000 is a core memory which, was one of those cars that humbled me when I thought I knew how to drive. “Squirrelly” was the descriptor that came to mind when I compared it to how it handled when I first drove a RWD aggressively (a Miata, another core memory in humbling me). But once I finally got a little used to it, it became a fun as hell car to drive.

The barrier for me was the price tag. These were “expensive” on the street value added to the fact that it was an impractical two seater, I just accepted that for the time being I could admire from a far.
However, my brother Logan was looking for a “fun forever” car and had his sights set on this S2000 he saw in craigslist (is that even a thing anymore?) It was mostly stock with a Mugen rep hardtop. We looked at it a total of 3 or 4 times before he finally pulled the trigger.

Luckily, he happened to have almost the same taste in car mods that I did – so many of the mods he wanted to do to his car I would have done myself.
It may not look like much – indeed it may not be to many people – but nothing hits more to me than clean and simple.
First thing on the list (as I would have done too) was to put suspension on the car and he opted for air. The documentation for it starts here in part 1 of this 5 part series –> https://ricecardriver.com/s2k-air-install-part-1/

He let me autox it a few times and it gets the job done albeit on air suspension.

He ended up getting Regas after I loaned him my RPF1s at the time.

It’s pretty much sat the same state for a long time until recently. Logan had the car go through a full exterior refresh, meaning the body / paint / badges / trims were all completely redone. It probably isn’t going to be any more cleaner than if it came off the showroom floor.
Because of that he insisted that we go out for a shoot for some rollers and pictures. I didn’t have any complaints.
The side shot is the money shot. Change my mind.

He had on hand to use either the “silver USDM” or the “red JDM” badges. Im so glad he opted for the red.

These OEM side strakes are such a small detail but damn does it make a big difference in look.

Future plans? I think new wheels, a cage, and some seats are in the future.
We’ll see you next time RiceFam! What’s your car’s story?
