KJxFG Meet at Waipio CORPs | October 27, 2019
I haven’t attended a car meet in years.
I usually stay away from them because they’re either at night, attract too much attention, or no longer attended by people I know. Most that I hung out with have gone out of the scene entirely and now filled with a new generation of young bloods.
This meet, however, called out to me for some reason.
I’ve been following the KJXFG brand for a few weeks now. I missed the pop-up at Ohana Hale Market and decided this would be better for me as there were gonna be cars to look at. I’d be able to put a name and face to the brand, connect with people who love the car culture, and practice taking more pictures. Unfortunately, the conditions weren’t exactly favorable so I wasn’t able to get much pictures to my liking, but I was able to meet some new/old faces at the meet, finally meet the man behind the brand, and learn a little more about it.
KJXFG HAWAII is a lifestyle brand I created[.] The focus of the brand [is] bridging car culture and street culture through the use of visual arts… that I create [in] my early interest of photography and graphic arts…
KJXFG is actually the title I started with as a photographer… KJ [is the] initials of my son and FG [is] the car club that introduced me to the car scene and started my photography… so I created [it] to do what I like to do… and invest it in the cultures that I enjoy being a part of…
The brand is still growing and exploring… and yet to be continued…

What’s also cool is that he pairs with his wife’s brand so that the (car guy’s) ladies have something for them as well! It’s ingenious. I respect what he does and what he stands for and he’s real chill and easy to talk to. It’s evident he loves what he does. Looking forward to its growth!
My personal favorite of the show had to be the silver IS300 below, which was one of the lucky five (5) attendees that were awarded a carepackage and a future feature.
- INTEGRA @p1_ikeda
- LS @vrdyctapparel
- PRELUDE @jmapa_wolf
- EK HATCH @unko_zam
- IS300 @dj_prolific
I was still salty that I didn’t get as many good shots as I’ve liked – there were excellent builds and some had already left as the setting got more favorable… oh well.
Overall, I really enjoyed it! No doubt one of the chillest meets I’ve been to. No drama. No negativity. All good vibes.
Keep DRIVING!
