KJxFG Chill Meet | April 18, 2021
Heh-LOOOOOOOOOOOW! How long it’s been!
Believe me when I say that I haven’t forgotten about the site, but I unfortunately slowed on updating ever since COVID-19 put the world on alert. As of this writing, Hawaii has done away with some restrictions in regards to food establishments, gatherings, and the like.
A little over a year ago, I did a write up on @_kjxfghawaii because I believed in what CEO Kyle and his brand stood for. We’ve been talking here and there and I expressed to him how I was looking forward to his next gathering – along with the other car shows that we all hope are up and coming – because some restrictions were lifted. He wasn’t going to do a full-on meet like his inaugural one, but a smaller, chiller meet.
Two things:
- I was able to get acquainted with a lot of people this time around and I spend time talking with others who got excited about car culture just as much as I did. You know how you recognize and know people’s cars but not really know the artist that drives behind the wheel? I was able to match cars to faces, but also faces to existing brands. While this was a great thing, it leads to my second point.
- Conversing so much meant that I spent less time using my camera. Many of the builds that came through that I made a mental note to pay attention to had left. I also need to learn how to work a wide angle lens to my liking. I already lost out on taking pics of awesome cars, but most of the shots I got were either blown out or not quality enough to work on. Lesson learned.
Hope that you enjoy what I did end up capturing and I am looking forward to more meets, shows, and meeting the people that make the car culture in Hawaii so enjoyable!
