How to Change Oil 2011 Civic Si | 8th Gen Civic

Note: I grabbed the wrong oil jug for the picture.

Quick Reference:

• 17mm drain bolt – 30 ft/lb torque
• 5W-30 Oil Weight
  • I use personally use full synthetic
• Honda OEM Oil Filter Part # : 15400-PLM-A01
  • I’ve used other “Premium” filters from Napa and K&M
  • Hand tighten
• To reset oil life display :
  • Switch display to show oil life %. Hold SEL until display flashes, then press and hold SEL again till it shows 100%

The oil quality on the dash was showing 20% and it just so happen to be a change-oil-on-the-car type of day. I’m still trying to find a manageable way to limit the spill of the oil when taking off the filter. Any suggestions? Or do I just suck it up and deal with it?
