Trip to Akihabara RDX

Published by Lan on

Small post, but wanted to share our little experience when we took a trip to the Mecca of modified rides – Tokyo, Japan and a city called Akihabara.

Undoubtedly, this place is a visual representation of what comes to mind when you think “anime”, “manga”, “otaku”, and the like…

In this city, we were able to catch glimpses of some cars out in the wild that unfortunately we couldn’t capture quickly enough: many R32s, a Celica, some Civics both old and new, and a really raunchy BMW E92.

Prior to the trip, we were told to go look in the Akihabara RDX parking lot.

And indeed we did.

However, five minutes of just walking around we were approached by security – very politely – asking us not to walk around and take pictures. Legit sad because there were a lot of cars in there that were worthy of noting and that was just one small section on just one floor.

I’ve come to understand that every now and then there are legit events/meets that happen down there…

Granted, we understood why we had to leave, but here are the very little nuggets we were able to capture.

I’m still piecing together some more photos from our trip. Lots to do and so little time!
